Creative Process

I take the audio apart and rebuild it from scratch: I record real spaces, create soundscapes, use silence as a counterweight, create foley effects, and manipulate sounds until they become emotion; I edit and time each layer so it either complements or contradicts the image, I work with depth and space, I add or remove music depending on what the scene demands, I leave mistakes in if they tell the truth, and I either strip everything down to the essentials or plunge it into chaos; here, sound does not merely accompany; it sustains and reveals.
